Fiction as way of life
I’ve studied Cinematography specialized in Editing, and continued my education with two masters on Audiovisual Communication Arts and direction on Fiction TV Series, as well as various courses on screenwriting, editing and digital composition. For over 15 years I have worked with international agencies and clients (BBVA, Endesa, Ferrari, Piaggio, Orange, Cepsa…) and film and television companies (Bambú Producciones, Plano a Plano, Atresmedia, Globomedia, TVE…) acquiring knowledge and skills with a clear aim: that audiovisual media, besides being my passion, would be my livelihood.
I have also written, produced and directed short films that have been screened and awarded in countries around the world, and I strongly believe in the term “film d’auteur”. This does not mean that I only carry out “small” projects, and I also embark myself on genres such as science fiction or action, shooting outdoors and using all possible practical special effects. In such a way, I’ve been testing my limits and ideas working with actors and crew of great talent. After these short films and proofs of concept, in recent years I’ve channeled my efforts in the gestation of feature films and television series.
I develop my work as a director and editor on demand in documentaries, advertising and TV formats, and as a teacher and action director for Jose A. Rojo’s Stunt Team. I focus my efforts on bringing to the screen my feature film screenplays «Where songs are born”, «Blind Bullets», «Destroy Madrid» and «The Hunt», along with the television series projects «Kaplan Investigations» and «REM». Furthermore, I am immersed in the writing of my first novel.
I am part of the Directive Board of the Association of Audiovisual Editors of Spain —AMAE— and I am a member of the Association of Writers and author’s rights of Audiovisual Media —DAMA—.
“One day you discover that just as a climber feels a climax reaching the summit of a mountain, for you there’s nothing like filming behind the camera. I have always enjoyed story-telling, since I was a child when I arranged epic battles of Lego vs Playmobil, until I began to record them with my first VHS-C camera. And then, the game became a way of life. I believe in the power of narrative, in telling stories that beyond its main plot, convey ideas and feelings. And above all, I believe in the power of images, colors and frames, movements and editing, music and rhythm…Above all, I believe in cinema.”
With Laura Racero —photographer, designer and illustrator— I form a tandem dedicated to still photography in film, television and advertising.
With José Antonio Rojo —stunt coordinator— I’ve joined forces in a Second Unit for design and film action scenes.
